Global Obesity Report

In a recent BBC News report, shocking statistics revealed that over a billion people worldwide are living with obesity. The highest rates are observed in countries like Tonga, American Samoa, and Nauru, where obesity affects 70-80% of adults.

Many South Pacific islands face alarming rates of obesity among adults aged 20 and over, underscoring the urgent need for action.

The 10,000 Toes Campaign is dedicated to combating type 2 diabetes across the South Pacific by educating local communities on the importance of a healthy lifestyle. We offer free health checks, intervention programs, health training, and more to empower individuals to make informed choices about their health.

Diabetic Foot Sepsis

One of the severe complications of diabetes is Diabetic Foot Sepsis or Gangrene.

Dr. Chester Kuma explains that this condition arises when blood sugar levels soar, causing significant damage to blood vessels and resulting in inflammation and tissue death. Tragically, many individuals in the South Pacific have lost their feet, toes, or even limbs due to this complication of diabetes.

This is why we are on a mission to save lives and limbs from the devastating effects of diabetes.

Please help us to raise awareness and empower vulnerable communities across the South Pacific to combat diabetes together.
