With profound sadness, we announce the untimely passing of Paul Meredith Rankin, who left us unexpectedly last month. His sudden departure has created a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Paul was a remarkable individual and a co-founder of The 10,000 Toes Campaign, an initiative that has profoundly impacted many lives. His role in its creation and development was indispensable.
Paul’s exceptional research and writing skills helped shape the campaign’s mission and vision. He dedicated himself to raising awareness about diabetes and its devastating effects, including amputations, in the South Pacific. His contributions will be remembered for years, and his determination to make a meaningful difference in the world was truly inspiring.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Paul was a cherished friend to many, especially Pamela Townend, Campaign Coordinator. Together, they shared a vision and a commitment to making the world a better place. Paul’s enthusiasm, positive energy, and unwavering support made him an invaluable partner in the campaign’s growth and success.
Those privileged to work with Paul were always struck by his infectious smile, genuine warmth, and generosity. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. Whether through thoughtful conversations or selfless acts of kindness, Paul’s presence brightened the lives of those around him.
While we mourn his loss, we are also grateful for his enduring legacy. Paul’s passion for the 10,000 Toes Campaign will continue to inspire us as we carry forward the mission so dear to his heart.
We pledge to honour his memory by continuing to advance the campaign’s goals, ensuring his vision for a better future remains at the forefront of our efforts.
At this time of sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with Paul’s family and friends. We extend our deepest condolences to them and share their grief, remembering a remarkable man whose impact on the world will never be forgotten.
Paul Meredith Rankin may no longer be with us, but his spirit will live on in the work we continue to do and in the cherished memories we hold dear.
Rest in peace, Paul. You will be deeply missed.
