Over $15,000 raised!

Pam’s Mad May campaign, part of our Adopt a Wellness Clinic initiative, set out to raise funds for four life-saving clinics in the South Pacific, and thanks to your support, we exceeded that goal!

With the help of our generous community, we raised more than $15,000 to support remote wellness clinics in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. These clinics are on the frontline, preventing amputations caused by diabetes and helping people live healthier lives.

Why We Launched Mad May

Across the Pacific, preventable diseases like type 2 diabetes continue to harm lives. In many villages, mothers give birth on worn mattresses under leaking roofs. Health workers care for patients without basic tools like thermometers, clean sheets, or reliable lighting.

That’s why we created Pam’s Mad May as part of our Adopt a Wellness Clinic campaign.

Pam’s Efforts in the Kitchen and Beyond

To launch Mad May, our Campaign Co-ordinator Pamela Townend began with a bold mission – cooking four whole-food, plant-based meals over one weekend for hundreds of people at the ELIA Lifestyle Medicine Summit in Sydney. Every plate sold helped us reach our fundraising goal.

“It was more than just cooking. It was about giving hope,” Pam shared.

As Pam cooked, she connected with donors, told real stories from the field, and encouraged others to support the urgent needs in our clinics.

Where Your Support Goes

Because of your generosity, these four high-need clinics will now receive:

  • Medical supplies like wound care kits and delivery equipment
  • Critical building repairs including roofing
  • Training for local health workers
  • Bedsheets, pillowcases and other essentials
  • Thermometers and stethoscopes for 54 clinics, thanks to donations from Sydney Adventist Hospital

We also received in-kind support from businesses and individuals who gave supplies, time and care.

In the last week of May, Pam gave daily updates, pushed hard for the finish line and reminded us all how close we were. And it worked.

“This wasn’t just a fundraiser. It was a movement,” Pam said. “You gave hope to people you may never meet, and that’s something special.”

One of our most impactful videos, “They Didn’t Have to Lose Their Legs,” shared how diabetes-related amputations are often preventable with early treatment and support.

Your donations help make that possible by funding trained medical staff, early screening, and safe care in hard-to-reach communities.

The Mission Continues

Although Mad May has ended, the need remains for our other priority clinics. Together with your support, we are saving lives and limbs across the South Pacific — one clinic, one life, one toe at a time.
