Over the past three years, you’ve faced challenges like rough seas, poor internet, and remote locations, but your dedication has made a real difference. Your efforts have brought better health solutions to those in need and set a great example for others.

“My name is Franklyn. I’m in the western part of the Solomon Islands, coordinating The 10,000 Toes Campaign based in Kukundu. We have now rolled out The 10,000 Toes Campaign in Vella Lavella, Ranongga Island, and Kolombangara, which we just completed.
We are about to start the program in Ghizo and the other five islands, comprising 11 islands, including Choiseul Province. Diabetes is a significant problem here, and many people are affected. Lucy and I are dedicated to helping local communities by providing education, support, and resources to improve their health.
I have been married to Lucy for nine years, and we both have nursing qualifications. Lucy is a nurse by profession, and I am an operating theatre nurse. We make a great team. Lifestyle medicine was not on our radar. We both worked at Atoifi Adventist Hospital on the island of Malaita for more than fourteen years.
We were both interested in working with the community and were introduced to The 10,000 Toes Campaign after working in the Mobile Clinics. We’re excited to continue making a difference and improving health in our communities.
