Follow the footsteps of French Polynesia

We are thrilled to introduce Matha Williams, Health Ministries Director for French Polynesia and a proud Ambassador for The 10,000 Toes Campaign. Matha has a State Diploma in Midwifery, a Master’s in Public Health, and is President of the French Polynesian Midwifery Council. Matha’s dedication and passion for improving community health in the South Pacific have been invaluable to the success of our mission.

“I’m excited to finally share my journey with you all. After working for a few years in French Polynesia, I’m proud to say that French Polynesia is now part of the growing 10,000 Toes Campaign!

Translating resources due to the French influence has been challenging, but we’re making it happen. I’m committed to bringing health programs to help fight obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure in my community. We’re all working together to make a real difference in the South Pacific.

I’m honoured to have been an Ambassador for The 10,000 Toes Campaign since 2022.

Alongside my amazing teammate, Joséphine Suhas (a nurse manager), we are bringing essential health programs to help fight the fatal trio of obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure in French Polynesia. I am so proud of the work we’re doing in the community, and I can’t wait to see the lasting impact we continue to make together.

Helping my community is what drives me every day. I’m truly grateful to be part of The 10,000 Toes Campaign, and I’m excited to continue making a difference in French Polynesia!

Aside from my work in health, I’m also a proud mom to my son, Teariki, who loves fishing. I have a big family that I adore. When I’m not working, I love learning new things and sharing my knowledge about midwifery, art, and culture.
