An important update from our Ambassador Ripson, in Papua New Guinea

“We recently conducted weekend training on Lifestyle Diseases under the Health & Temperance Department of Kiunga Town SDA church in Western Province which comes under Western Highlands Mission (WHM), Papua New Guinea. With the support of Australian Doctors International (AD), I trained eight Health Care Workers (HCWs) on basic screening methods/protocols for identifying lifestyle diseases, especially, diabetes, hypertension, etc.

There were two sessions for the training – the first session was theory and the second session was practical, explaining and demonstrating how to do RBSL check, how to properly get BP measurements, how to calculate BMI, how to measure and calculate Waist-Hip Ratio, etc. These trained Health Care Workers will run a quarterly Lifestyle Clinic at the church, under the Health and Temperance Department in 2023, targeting church members and the public to address Lifestyle Diseases.”

Addressing Lifestyle Disease Burden in the Pacific is Everyone’s Business!

Please help us help PNG with continued health training and health checks so we can save lives and limbs.
